Thought you might find the following article/link interesting.....about schools trying to have students go at their own pace. It is not MCL, but on a certain level they know that it is - well - inevitable! BMcG

Inevitable . . . the Book

Our webpage was created to extend and support our soon-to-be-published book titled Inevitable: Mass Customized Learning. After publishing books using the services of publishing companies we decided to self-publish Inevitable. We are self-publishing through the services of CreateSpace which is a subsidiary of Amazon.com. We are getting fast, professional, and helpful services . . . they are actually treating us like customers.

An aside . . . Amazon leapfrogged brick and mortar bookstores by selling books online, then leapfrogged physical book sales with Kindle, and are now appearing to leapfrog publishers . . . and publishers seem be oblivious to what is happening. Amazon, of course, is not the only place to self-publish. There are many options available . . . if you are thinking of writing and publishing, we encourage you to consider self-publishing. But know that there are pluses and minuses.

We expect Inevitable to be available in about two to three months. We are attempting to speed the process . . . we will keep you posted when we have a more definite date. Inevitable will also be available on Kindle. For now, you can see a detailed explanation of each chapter and can download three chapters of Inevitable on our webpage.

We are very receptive to feedback on our webpage. We are quite new at this and are looking for opportunities to make it fit your needs. This is also true of blogging . . . new at that too. Feedback accepted. cjs

Welcome

Our Mass Customized Learning (MCL) vision at this point is quite detailed but needs to continue to grow and expand. MCL is very new and its implementation demands significant systemic change . . . and that is an understatement.

We wish to make our Mass Customized Learning Blog highly interactive. We want to hear from you, we want to answer questions, we want to share experiences and successes. In short, we want to create a dialogue that will help us and help you to grow.

Our expertise includes leadership, future-focusing, strategic design/planning, the change process, and effective instructional strategies. Both Bea (McGarvey) and Chuck (Schwahn) have had extensive consulting experiences on these topics . . . mostly with schools but also with business and industry.

The purpose of our website and of our blog is to inform, to learn, and to influence. Our personal missions are “That People Grow.”

We often use the quote . . . from where or from whom we don’t know . . . “None of us is as smart as all of us.” We are passionate and committed to our work, but we are not “know-it-alls.” At least we hope not.
